After the rain

After the rain, 24" X 36", oil, Sold

This painting was inspired by a scene from the West Parish Meadow Cemetery in Andover, Massachusetts. It is a fairly large painting with a good amount of detail.
The path leads the eye into the painting and stops at the large tree. Its branches extend forward toward the viewer creating three-dimensionality. Water puddles are added to show that it had rained earlier.
The painting is 24" X 36" on stretched cotton canvas. The sides are 1 3/8" deep and painted black. It is ready to hang.

I am happy to  announce that this painting was chosen to be on the poster of the Illuminations Oct-Dec 2017 exhibit at Mass General Hospital Cancer Center.
