Lonesome tree at Plum Island

Lonesome tree at Plum Island, 18" X 24"

This painting was inspired by a scene at Plum Island Massachusetts. As I was driving down the Refuge Road, I spotted this lonesome tree in the far distance. The foreground marsh grasses had a lovely russet color. It was such a beautiful scene, I had to stop my car and take in this beautiful view. I definitely recommend visiting Plum Island in late fall. It is one of the most beautiful places in Massachusetts.
This painting is 18" X 24" on stretched canvas with a 1/2" depth. The sides are painted black and it is ready to hang.

The short hike

The short hike, 12X12 in, unframed, Sold

A bold impression of a popular trail in my neighborhood. New England is blessed with many beautiful trails. Trees and their shadow patterns are a constant source of inspiration to me.

This original painting is painted with professional quality oil paints, using the palette knife. The subtle hues of purple and orange, with energetic marks, create a bold harmony of colors and textures.

Houses create an interesting shadow pattern in the early afternoon light.  I don't have a beautiful garden, but I am happy to enjoy the overflowing bounty from my neighbor's backyard.
