At the top

At the top, 13" X 13", framed, oil/linen, Framed

This painting was inspired by a scene from the top of Mount Monadnock. I wanted to capture the emotion of the day in full color. The bright blue-green valley is painted against the purple sky. The orange rocks complete the harmony.  I am amazed at how color can convey a feeling of depth and atmosphere.
This painting is framed in a black and silver frame. The size of the framed work is 13" X 13".

Sunset and moonrise

Sunset and moonrise, 13" X 13, oil/linen, Framed, Sold

This painting was inspired by a scene I saw at Sandy Point Beach at Plum Island, Massachusetts. The time was the famous magic hour. The cherry on top was the full moon over the Atlantic ocean. I love how the orange and blue harmony creates a very pleasing scene.

This painting is framed in a black and gold plein-air frame. The gold lip really brings out the orange in the painting. The framed dimensions are 13" X 13". The painting surface is linen panel.

Red and White

Red and White, framed, 13.5" X 13.5", oil/linen, Framed

This painting was inspired by a picture I took near the Rolling Ridge Retreat and Conference Center in North Andover, Massachusetts. The sunlit red and white house is surrounded by tall evergreens and it is the focal point of this painting.
Houses in New England are a favorite subject because of their distinct geometry and contrast with surrounding trees and bushes.
I started this painting by first drawing the shapes and painting in a loose manner. As the painting progressed, I applied thicker paint using the palette knife. As you can see, a myriad of pure saturated colors has been applied towards the final layers.
This painting is framed in an off-white wooden frame. It creates a nice calm border around the much more colorful scene.

Lonesome tree at Plum Island

Lonesome tree at Plum Island, 18" X 24"

This painting was inspired by a scene at Plum Island Massachusetts. As I was driving down the Refuge Road, I spotted this lonesome tree in the far distance. The foreground marsh grasses had a lovely russet color. It was such a beautiful scene, I had to stop my car and take in this beautiful view. I definitely recommend visiting Plum Island in late fall. It is one of the most beautiful places in Massachusetts.
This painting is 18" X 24" on stretched canvas with a 1/2" depth. The sides are painted black and it is ready to hang.

The short hike

A bold impression of a popular trail in my neighborhood. New England is blessed with many beautiful trails. Trees and their shadow patterns are a constant source of inspiration to me.

This original painting is painted with professional quality oil paints, using the palette knife. The subtle hues of purple and orange, with energetic marks, create a bold harmony of colors and textures.
