Top of Mount Philo, Vermont ●

From the top of Mount Philo, Vermont. 14" X 18", oil/linen

I was inspired by the aerial view from the top of Mount Philo. The Adirondack mountains and Lake Champlain are visible in the far distance. The receding fields create depth.  As usual, the style here is semi-abstract. There are not many details, however, the impression is there.

After the rain ●

This painting was inspired by a scene from the West Parish Meadow Cemetery in Andover, Massachusetts. It is a fairly large painting with a good amount of detail. 

The path leads the eye into the painting and stops at the large tree. Its branches extend forward toward the viewer creating three-dimensionality. Water puddles are added to show that it had rained earlier.

The painting is 24" X 36" on stretched cotton canvas. The sides are 1 3/8" deep and painted black. It is ready to hang.

Spring time ●

This painting was inspired by a scene at the West Parish Meadow in Andover, Massachusetts. The paint has been applied thickly and energetically.  The colors have a subtle harmony and evoke the season of spring.  

This painting is framed in a white floater frame  9" X 11".

The composition moves the eye from the bottom left to the edge of the pond and then toward the meadow. The eye then moved towards the lovely peach colored tree and then back to the bottom left.

This painting was inspired by a scene from the Shawsheen River Greenway, in Andover Massachusetts. I have abstracted the colors in this otherwise all green landscape. It creates a playful and bright painting.

This painting is 9" X 12" framed in a 2" wide wooden frame. The total framed size is around 13" X 16".

This painting was inspired by the direct light hitting the rooftops of houses in my neighborhood.

 I am always inspired by the dimensional effect of light and shadow. This effect is usually seen on sloping roofs and angled corners. The yellow house is a continuous source of beauty as it shines brightly among the trees and surroundings. 

The painting is 10" X 10" framed in a light brown frame with a warm silver inner lip. The total size is 12" X 12".

This painting was inspired by a scene from the top of Mount Monadnock. I wanted to capture the emotion of the day in full color. The bright blue-green valley is painted against the purple sky. The orange rocks complete the harmony.  I am amazed at how color can convey a feeling of depth and atmosphere.

This painting is framed in a black and silver frame. The size of the framed work is 13" X 13".

This painting was inspired by a scene I saw at Sandy Point Beach at Plum Island, Massachusetts. The time was the famous magic hour. The cherry on top was the full moon over the Atlantic ocean. I love how the orange and blue harmony creates a very pleasing scene.

This painting is framed in a black and gold plein-air frame. The gold lip really brings out the orange in the painting. The framed dimensions are 13" X 13". The painting surface is linen panel.
